Stranger Weather Ahead: Detecting Anomalies in Temporal Weather Data
Our latest blog post outlines the hard work of a research project team (Evyanne Ewusie, Mariam Zenaishvili, Doğukan Eftal Türköz, Vivek Chander) from this summer! They investigated different methods for anomaly detection in weather data. You can find the full blog post and more on our Medium page!
Science fiction writer and biochemistry professor Isaac Asimov once said “The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not ‘Eureka!’ but ‘That’s funny…’”. How can machine learning aid this process? In the spirit of discovery, our team investigated methods to detect anomalies in weather data.
